Girls ballet shoes by Maid in the Forest

I bought some cheap girls ballet shoes on Ebay and decorated them with lace, ribbons, pearls....

They ended up pretty cute!

Coco O, the voice of Quadron

I´m SO in love with Coco O, the voice in front of the amazing duo Quadron (have you heard their song Hey Love?).
I`m sure Coco will end up being a new style icon. I just love her self confidence and the way she dress.

So I went searching for Coco Styles on Etsy and made this tribute treasury. Here´s the link to the treasury on Etsy

Song Of the Year 2012: Spit it out

My song of the year, at least, and who knows, it might be Song Of the Year next year too. And next year. And next....

The song is Spit it out by danish band From Sarah with David Fjelstrup on vocals. I´ve written a tiny bit about him before, and now I will write a little more. Hey, I might even do it again....
There´s a lot of great voices out there and I really do love a lot of voices (well, I love voices), but to me David´s voice is the most fucking amazing voice in the world.

When I listen to it, I can´t figure out if it makes me extremely unhappy or very happy. I think maybe it does both. Like the first bright day in the spring and you feel like getting high on sunshine. And yet you know that you´re walking on a thin line, there´s a big deep black hole underneath you and you just hope you won´t fall through this time......

For some odd reason they haven´t made a video for this, so here´s  a link to Soundcloud to listen too. Do it!

Older photomanipulations

I just came across some old photos of my pig guts sculptures that I manipulated years ago. So I worked a little more on them, and here they are:

The last one contains my all times favourite Joakim Thåström quotation "I know you grow wings"...
Some artists have a theme they keep coming back to, this is my theme. Thank you Joakim, I hope I don´t need your permission;-)

I`m participating with my sculpture "Mother" in YOUnite tour/The Nomadic Project: Nomadic Project homepage.

I really love the idea behind this tour and am very excited to participate.

TAKE CARE exhibits at Austin Peay State Universitys Trahern Gallery

So here´s a little going on. I quote from http://www.theleafchronicle.com:

This month, Outlaw is making her concerns public with a new exhibit she is curating at Austin Peay State Universitys Trahern Gallery, TAKE CARE: Biomedical Ethics in the Twenty-first Century. The exhibition, which features works by nine female artists, opens with a lecture at 5 p.m. and reception to follow at 6 p.m. on Jan. 17 and runs through Feb. 5. The show is free and open to the public.
The artists featured in this exhibit include Outlaw, Annette Gates, Kristina Arnold, Sher Fick, Lindsay Obermeyer, Monica Bock, Sadie Ruben, Jeanette May and Libby Rowe.

The whole article can be read here.

And this is a photo of a never finished work I digged out from it´s hiding place yesterday. I´m preparing for an exhibit at Vordingborg Library in february, and might work a little more on this and a few other things:

Sleep Party People remix by Trentemøller

I know, I really ought to write about my art, wasn´t that the purpose to start with?
I´m actually working on something right now, but not ready to show just yet.

Meanwhile you should watch this stunningly beautiful breath taking video, which is Trentemøller´s remix of Sleep Party People´s beautiful song The Dwarf And The Horse.

I love Sleep Party People and I love most of what Trentemøllers does. So putting those two together.... well, just take a look for yourself!
